Hi Guys

I have my car(135i N54 78000km) at Cedar Isle auto, it went in for a service two weeks ago. After driving the car for about a week i could hear a rattle from the engine bay, so booked it in at Cedar Isle auto.

They confirmed today it is the turbo's. Now my question is what else must be replaced in this process and how is Cedar isle with regard to Major issues such as this ? I did find out they not giving me a courtesy car which sucks.

Anything I should be aware of when going to fetch the car ?(car was down on power when taking it in). Anything I should be aware off in terms of Cedar Isle auto?

So you have a wastegate rattle issue.

BMW will replace both Turbo's.

However make sure that you go through the job card and see that the turbos have been replaced. Sometimes the dealer is told by BMW Germany to only adjust the turbos.

They should put in new oil, some dealerships only top up the oil lost when removing the Turbos. Best practice would be to add fresh oil.

Your car will be at the dearlership for about 5 to 7 days. So if you can push them to replace all vacuum lines then thats a bonus.

When you get the car back, open the bonnet at the dearlership with your service advisor and go through the entire engine bay to ensure everything is in place.

Insist on it.

But in all likely hood they will replace the turbos with a wastegate rattle.
