We reported fully on the build and development of our 135 project car here: BMW 135 RB big turbos and full performance build
Most of the testing and tuning were done on the ART dyno. But we decided to put the car on the Zeemax dyno since it is recognized in Cape Town by most car clubs, automotive businesses and car enthusiasts as a good, reliable and accurate benchmark. Zeemax uses the Hyper dyno (www.hyperdyno.com) which measures power at the flywheel but they could also read the car at the wheels and convert figures to HP if that is your fancy.
Here is the dyno result of our Rennzport 135 project car in partnership with ART.
Mods on the car:
* JB4 tune
* RB twin turbos
* BMS DCi
* Stett Intercooler
* Stett charge pipe & DVs
* Light wheels & semi-slicks rear
* Water/meth
* Custom & Active Autowerke exhaust
Test 4: Was done on map 6, which is a custom tuned map to top out at 19psi. Actually, we took the global settings of the race map 7 and tuned specific settings with regards to torque and fuel for this specific car. We were comfortable with the default CPS settings. We also logged the car while on the zeemax dyno and we are very pleased with the results.
Test 5: On this dyno sheet is the default map 7 race map reading (maximum 16psi). The customer could use this as a daily map. But the autotune map 5 would be my preference for a daily tune.
The tuning of the car is now completed and we will keep the car for one more week to monitor the car on the road and allow it to fully adapt to the chosen map of the customer.
