I am a newbie to the 120d as my 116i was written off by a drunk fool, :argh: so i decided to upgrade recently.

i have been looking into it and would like to change the air filter.
what would you recommend?
Would a universal dual cone(as i prefer the sound) do the trick? its a 2008 e87. please advise me with your opinion.

i am located in JHB and in pretoria.

Why? there is no filter that would make the car perform better, and there is not much point in trying to make a diesel sound better? All you would be doing is allowing crap to get into your engine, which will shorten its life considerably.

Doing a cai on a diesel is very taboo.. Ive done one before on a Polo, the sound did change but no real performance gains.

In my opinion, doing a proper cold air induction can only benefit, even if it is just sound. For testing sake, why dont you slap a cheap cone on and see how it feels?

Best for a diesel:

Software
Decat/downpipe

A water/meth kit is also a great mod

Just be careful of CAI's that are mounted low especially on FI engines, seeing how well our roads are irrigated :nonono:
