I opt for a nice quiet holiday and visited the Grandparents in the town I grew up, Swellendam. So one day my mom says she wants to go to barrydale. Just after lunch we got in the 540 and we hit the road first taking the N2 towards Mosselbay. After about 10km you get to a BP on your right and just after that there is a turn off left with a sign showing Suurbraak and Barrydale. Then after Suurbraak there is another left turn off which will take you over the Tradouws Pass to Barrydale.

I mostly took picks of the pass... and the car :mmm:

Was a great day out. Had a nice cold Mitchells beer in barrydale and some chips before we headed back.

It's just horrible that people can do this...

Stunning pics. It looks hot outside. My in-laws lived in Barrydale from 1965 to 1980 and had an apricot farm. It was very Afrikaans then but really friendly people.

This is the very reason why I love holidays in the Cape - it's majestic mountains and scenery.
I think Overberg is the region. I took some stunning lanscape photos there durning harvesting season.

Great drive too
