118i software options

Hi

Has anyone done only software on a 118i E87? I know it's a 2L, but it makes only 100kW. Isn't the engine the same as on a 120i, just de-tuned slightly? I know it revs almost 700 less than a 120i. Surely lifting the rev limiter should give it the 115kW of a 120i? And surely that can be tuned further to say 120kW?

Extending rev range makes no difference as the car is losing power towards high rev anyway.

I think tje question is...is it really worth spending that money for very little power?

I had a 116i e87 with m sports pack, it only had 85kw and I took out cat , replaced filter and took out the resonator. Car flew thereafter! Try that and see

Are you out of motorplan or is it not a concern at the moment? One should look into the technical details of these motors and actually confirm if all parts and internals are in fact in the same, thus proving that it is just a detune.
