Hi all

I am new on forum. I need advice about an engine repair or replacement. I had a breakdown on Friday, after an amber oil light appeared and engine malfunction and immediate oil leakage.

My car is 114200 on the dot with regular services. Motor plan expired last year, the price of engine replacement is ridiculous, a dealer reported an engine failure which can only be replaced. Despite that the following was done on my car: service -standard scope, micro filter service, engine oil service, set oil filter, windscreen additive.

My car is still financed. I need advice.:

:cry

Hi Bud,

Your kinda up poop street are you not.

From the limited info provided, it can be assumed that oil starvation cooked a highly strung motor, so perhaps oil pump or something of that nature.

To answer your question, you would have to see what was damaged, if the block is poked, your better off buying a complete motor and slapping it in there.

But it may be worth your while just to strip and see, depending on the bore damage of course, if any...

But the way that I see it, 5 to 10k for the motor, and another 5 to fit.

Or about 10k to 15k to repair your motor, provided that it is possible.

Where is the car currently ?
