THIS ONE IS GOING TO BE BIG................. We already have massive support from all corners of the Cape and registration has started as of today 12/6/09. The ultimate aim is to display some 1000 vehicles. Wishful thinking? If you get a chance to talk to Peanuts Fourie and Ian Little, do so. I think you will be surprised at what these two gentlemen have achieved to date.

There is a registration fee of R10. Why, why, why you ask. Because we want you to commit. Not only will you get your R10-00's worth in goodies, we will give your R10 back to your Club if you pitch up on the day. How is that for a good deal. The Clubs are also being encouraged to set up their stands and compete for the best stand. We are searching for the trophies that we used to hand out for that in the Cape Classic Safari era as some of those were fantastic trophies. Please let us know if you can help out there. A few of the Clubs are going to use the day as their annual Concours day - that alone should be worth seeing.

So far we have CAR and/or WIEL on board as main sponsors. There are others in the pipeline. If your company would like to share in the limelight or set up a stall at the event, please contact the Chairman at [email protected]

WATCH THIS SPACE FOR MORE DETAILS AS THEY EMERGE!!!!!!

I'm trying to find out more...

More info:

Entry is R30 for Adults, R10 for kids, gates open 10am.

Herewith information with regard to the Cape Classic Car Show scheduled to take place Sunday 15th November from 10.00am until 4.00pm. The venue chosen for the event is the Northerns Rugby Club positioned in Oosterzee Parow, this venue is able to accommodate the 1000 plus vehicles we are expecting and is also positioned alongside the Cape Multi Motor Club who shall be hosting the event.

Rotary of Hout Bay shall be manning the gates for charity and takings will be split between them and the 36 motor clubs affiliated to the CMMC. Live entertainment shall be supplied by the band Tribute who play Cliff Richard and the Shadows music, with further entertainment being provided by the Fire Brigade, Cape Town Highlanders, Radio Control Cars, Army Mock Battle and the Alsatian Dog Club.

In addition to this there shall be a number of club concours events in the arena plus Motor Racing legends of the past and present who shall be on hand for signing autographs and photo shoots. The Model Vehicle Registration shall also be holding a miniature car show in the hall beneath the grandstand.

As you can see it is going to be a big show, and we would appreciate your assistance in supplying us with coverage of the event, signage or promotional bunting. In total there are 3 rugby fields that shall be filled with classic cars, street rods, motorcycles, racing cars and stock cars. Hoping that you find the event favourable for your product and that you shall see fit to join us on the big day.

Kind regards,
Ian Little
Cape Classic Car Show Co-ordinator.

Don't know if we can organize a stand... I think it's only for classics. Should I find out?
