'06 e90 320d TURBO FAILURE

Howzat Guys,

Hav'nt been on the forum much. Ran into problems yesterday while taking son to school. Was overtaking a slow car on the fast lane, after passing the car gave a slight jerk & limp mode. As I got to the R55/Summit rd turnoff I could hear a howling noise upon acceleration...no boost. A techie frm BMW had a look & said turbo failure/ electronic actuator issue.

What will be the ball park figure to repair & suitable places. With the 2nd kido on the way, funds are bit tight. Any advice or way fwd would be appreciated. Car is in Noordwyk at the moment, got to bring it back home to Eldoraigne. Car went for service to Club Fountains last Thursday...182000kms 4,5k down already...

boost pipe? Faulty sensor?

Maybe its not the turbo.

Howzat, thanks for the response...will anyone on the forum be able to do a diagnostic...or should I tow the vehicle to BMW?

Normally there would be signs of turbo failure...no signs what so ever...oh no smoke at all...

okay i see Eldoraigne. There are alot of fanatics around that can assist.
I will check with some of the guys, we can come and read the errors.

Thanks for the headsup...need to get this issue sorted & u guys help will be highly appreciated. As I said the car is in Noordwyk at the moment, did not manage to drive it back home to Eldoraigne, was too scared of further damage. I can even come & fetch u... pm me ur number will call u...

If you have not come right I might be able to help as well. I'm in the reeds so not too far. I have Inpa that reads E90's. Should be able to show if its indeed the electric actuator. It's not going to be cheap, turbo would need to come out either way.
