F25 X3 2.0d M Sport

Rainbow
Hi all,

So... I had been contemplating a family car for a while now, with nothing specific in mind. I've always been a bit "on the fence" when it came to SUVs, mostly because of the internet saying that they're not much more practical than sedans etc... I was under this impression for a while, until I woke up  smile bounce .

In all honesty it's a really comfortable drive, the higher ground clearance gives you the confidence to tackle those suburban pavements without worrying about rubbing on anything... It's just really nice to drive something stock and comfy (old age perhaps). The M135i is an awesome car, but add a pram, car seat and some shopping and it all gets a bit cramped. So in short, I still agree that you could definitely use a sedan as a family car, but the extra room from an SUV (albeit in this case a small one) is a nice to have...

Anyway, TL;DR version - Bought an X3

It's a 2012 2.0d X Drive
M Sport package
Xenons and Pano roof (essentials)
86k kms

Some pics after a mild clean....

Also performed a quick interior clean... All in all, great condition.

Agree, have an F25 X3 20d as well. I'm honestly in 2 minds about selling mine (currently advertised) but don't have much need for it in the current circumstances. However, it's a remarkably comfortable vehicle; long journeys are a dream. The 20d engine is surprisingly very swift and responsive. Elegance through and through.
Congrats on your purchase. You'll love it.

Have you done a stage 1 remap? Improved throttle response and acceleration, with the same fuel economy

@M135i
Been contemplating it bru. Plan expired 28Apr2020. Been realllly contemplating it. Got a quote from Sherwin that it'll cost about R5000 (maybe cheaper in the current circumstances haha) to do a stage 1 file, which would bring power up to about 170kw or so, and torque to about 520nm...lol then I'll be rolling properly; will be a proper sleeper! I heard that fuel consumption would also improve.

Got mine done with Tactical Tuning (074 792-8241). Give them a shout. Might be cheaper. Was R2600 when I did mine.

Had my map done 6 months ago. Still on 8.4/100. Did not improve my consumption or worsen it. But it feels like an altogether different car. Definitely worth it.
