BMW 318is Lightweight flywheel
Hi Guys,

I'm looking to do a light weight flywheel and clutch conversion on my M44 318is,

Any advise and is there a parts list of what I require?

Thanks

Why? You're not going to gain anything worthwhile

No performance gains other than your motor to spin up quicker which will improve your acceleration but it will also drop revs quicker between gears.

I like doing mods so I would have probably done it

You can get a single mass custom flywheel which will use oem 318is clutch

last I checked it costed around 4-5k depending how far you wanna go

I got someone who can do this for you if you want to do it.

I recon do some research before doing this

You're not going to get any acceleration benefits. A lightened flywheel won't in any way affect gear ratios or power output.

You are right it wont increase power or gear ratios

But the motor will spin up quicker causing it to increase acceleration

Sigh. No. That's not how acceleration works.
