Radiator advise needed
Morning Boys,

So last night on my way from work towards home on the N1 my coolant light comes on. On the Audi, was close to menlyn so nursed the car to morther in laws house for further inspection. To find out that the water bottel is full of emptieness Fencelook.

So the temp stayed normal / just below normal the whole of 5km.

Filled her up witn some H2O and nursed her home the additional 12km from skoonma to my house. As i stopped in front of the gate the light comes on again. Pulled this troublesome lady onto my ramps, remove the bash plate and see some water dripping from the radioator. So i think the plastick expantion tanks cracked. (F....)

Anyways im in 2 minds, do i get a replacement from a shop or do i get my guy to weld on alu tanks? It going to cost the same ish...

If the recomendation is to replace, i have 2 brands i have been quoted on TYC (dont know this brand at all) and BEHR.

Both come with 12months warantee and full aloy tanks is for "life".

Thanks for reading

Replace with Behr. Behr radiators were OEM parts on the E46 and they supply some other parts to BMW under the 'Mahle' name.

Had my radiator changed to a Behr brand in 2015, purchased through Silverton. Silverton can also do a pressure test to make sure you are replacing the correct part.

Behr would be my suggestion as KPM has mentioned.

Agree on doing a pressure test first. In the past I replaced pipes, and a bottle, and even the radiator, and it turned out my bottle cap was the problem. facepalm
