Vibration Damper
Hi gents and ladies,

So my baby suffered the infamous vibration damper failure yesterdayBlueCry

One or two questions for you guys:

1. Will this be covered under warranty? I checked my warranty policy schedule this morning and this is what it says:
"Drive Pulleys" Crankshaft, camshaft, tensioners and jockey pulleys are covered in the event of mechanical failures.

2. Suggestions on workshops that can do the job for me please.

TIA

RE: Vibration Damper
it may be covered but not to the full extent of the work. You might have to pay in a little to have the job done.

Depends on the amount they allow for the job. Parts only from BMW is over 4K

RE: Vibration Damper
Agree with Danny.

Depending on the warranty company and schedule of benefits depending on your plan, there are set limits (Plan A - highest limit @ R5k, Plan C - lowest limit @ R3k). If you have a top up, this really helps. Also makes a difference how good your mechanic is at motivating the case, for a quick turnaround time.

Just did my dampener through the warranty last month (I don't have top up), they covered 85% of the total cost, with the balance for my account. Rather get the OEM dampener from ABM, think it is R4.5k with the belt and then the cost for an hour's labour.

RE: Vibration Damper
Thank you.

You guys are life savers. One less stress off my plate.

I've got my car booked into a workshop tomorrow morning, I will update as soon as it's done.
Tune-Tech only had a booking open for Thursday.

@KPM_330

This Top up you mentioned, would be something totally different from like my insurance Top Up right?
