RE: Tyre advice needed
I agree with @Yulz9081,the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asym is a great tyre at a decent price, especially if you get the non-RFTThumbs

Switched from RFT to the NON-RFT versions of these and best bang for buck tyre in my opinion when it comes to handling in both wet and dry even with truckloads of torque.
AS3 has been replaced by AS5 now. However, I agree.... Best tire in it's price range.

Just a quick update,

Mintys have given me a quote of R4450, only issue is that the front thread will differ from the back as they dont have matching thread in stock...EISH...the guy there says it wouldnt matter, What do you guys think?

The courier company has quoted me R999.98 to deliver to me.

Only issue is asthetics
as long as the front (L/R) are the same, good to go

Don't go with Conti SC5. Too many inconsistent batches/tyres around.

We had a 320d in the family go through 2 full sets in 60k km with a ladt driver. Uneven wear and excessive road noise was the issue.

Many other forum members have complained about noises, shaking etc. which all pointed back to those specific tyres.

Contis are good, I have been using them on my 320d and they come with a free insurance. If they have a problem, you just go back and they replace them with a new one. Only pay for the thread used. That is why I can afford to change one tire every time I hit a pothole and no questions asked, thanks to contisure smile bounce

Than Im running out of choices in my price bracket and will have to look at spending around 11 to 12 k....
