The other 330
After having owned my own 330i for a while, the wife really enjoyed driving it. So when another one was found standing in a garage that was only been driven once a month for the last year owned by the previous owner, it only made sense to buy it. These cars aren't meant to stand still, they want to be driven. Previous owner had a back injury and found he was only driving his suv.

That said, the was a single owner vehicle and mostly maintained, but most importantly, left in almost complete mint condition. There are a select few scratches, and a trim issue I haven't fixed, same as the issue @Riaad fixed on his car here - I haven't taken a photo of it.

So the reason I haven't posted about this car earlier or sooner, I thought it had a subframe issue. The reason I thought this, was that it still had a knock sound at the back when changing gears 1->2->3 even after replacing the rear bushing which usually by this time is torn. When I replaced this on my own car, it was 100% after, but not on this car. Same polyurethane bushing on both from powerflex. Took the car back to Garage808 who installed it, they found the issue and re-installed it, and after that it was 100%.

This car was buttery smooth from the beginning and one can see this car was never messed with.

Photos of the car after picking it up:

Parent's doggos also came to have a look:

Previous owner did the following in the year before I purchased it for the wife:
1. All 4 window regulators
2. Clutch and the other items that go with it
3. Replaced all the brakes

Maintenance done so far:
1. Replaced alternator - old one was broken
2. Replaced water pump and expansion tank. Also had to replace the bleeding screw when it broke.
3. Also had to replace the oil filter housing, which cracked when doing the alternator.
4. Replaced the battery
5. Shocks and shockmounts replaced with Koni active special shocks reinforcement plates added at the same time
6. FCABs and rear diff bushing with powerflex

The only modifications this car received thus far is:
1. oem xenons retrofitted - manual vertical aim still work without blinking when running
2. wood gear knob replaced with weighted leather knob

Planning on doing the following in the next months:
1. Android radio (purchased it in the UK while I was there just now). Now that I have it in my car, I believe other than the shocks and xenons its the only other upgrade the car need.
2. Remove the wood trim. Wife hate the wood, even though I kinda like it. Right now, I am just not sure if I should add the silver trim (same as in my car) or get it carbon coated before installing at the same time as the radio.

This is what the trim looks like right now:

No thats a different car. That 100k km 330i on the outside looks very much like this one, but this is a 2002 5speed 330i with grey interior, while that one you think about has a 6 speed gearbox and black interior. I very much wish I had that 6 speed gearbox version, and that one is super clean.

This one is still amazing and the wife is very happy with it.

Very nice car Bluebiggrin I would say make the trim a darker colour to offset the grey interior. The grey trim will get a bit lost I think

@Tinuva, what a lovely find, looks to be exceptionally clean and pretty well maintained! Wishing you and the Mrs, many miles of smiles.

I would wrap that trim in something dark, maybe carbon fibre or something similar to the 'black cube' trim, if you're more OEM inclined.. It will help break up the grey.

How do you find the Powerflex bushes on the FCAB's?

Agreed with the other posters about the silver trim looking dreary in the grey interior.
Spray it gloss/piano black

Was quoted R6500 by CoatItCapetown to do cuda carbon Rofl

Looks like I will have to go the DIY route for this after that quote...

To be honest, I can't feel the difference, whether they make the ride harder or not. Then again, the Konis are making the car feel comfy while solid on the road. I think being used to FCABs that are shot (suspect the same in my car, or at least on the way out), these don't feel worse comfort wise. All I know, it resolved the knocking sounds coming from the front of the car. Will say though, the 318i I sold, had brand new OEM FCABs, and that car was super soft on the road, but also not as much grip on the corners of de Waal M3 road.

Unless you know how brand new OEM FCABs feel, I believe the powerflex FCABs wont make the ride less comfy at all. It is however the purple powerflex which is meant for regular road use and not track use.

Just over 215k at the moment. Was on 215 061km on 20 July when it received a service.
