RE: New Vs Old 1 Series
I know a youngster who was a gifted a new 125i M Sport hatch a few years ago. The kid was 21 at the time. He had no idea (yet alone any interest) in the fact the car was a 2.0 turbo or that it was RWD. All he cared about was that it looked fast and would help him pick up chicks.

RE: New Vs Old 1 Series
I really disliked the last gen 1 series. I prefer the look of the new one. loss of RWD is not ideal for serious car fans... But a serious car fan wouldn't have bought a 1 series anyway... (ducks for cover :P)

2003 Alfa Romeo 147 T-Spark (Navy blue and beige interior)
2006 Alfa Romeo 147 JTD 16v (Silver and beige interior)

RE: New Vs Old 1 Series
until somebody on the forum buys a new 1 then all will rant and rave and say how good looking it is.

evolve with the times , it makes the previous 1 look dated.

and how often do you push your car from sandton - pta to really notice the difference betwen rwd/fwd...people just say things for the sake of things

New Vs Old 1 Series
Honestly speaking, the basic package of all the one series' that have been created to date look crap. But the sport models of each respective version, looks good... Owning one myself. But with this latest one, the whole range is not so lekker. The m performance parts do try to elevate it but Eish.

RE: New Vs Old 1 Series
I think in the flesh it won't look bad at all.
I just don'tlike the raised window line at the back. It will make it feel a bit small inside and maybe uncomfortable.

Do the current 1er rear windows open all the way down? these look like they might not

The one thing I hate about the f20 is the rounded corners on the windscreen at the top. The new one solves that.

RE: New Vs Old 1 Series
Why they put a 125 old vs M135 new.. compare the M140i to the new one

Anyways I like the look of the new car just don’t agree with front wheel drive. It made it different.

RE: New Vs Old 1 Series
Look at the overbite of the new shape in the side by side comparison. They try mask it by stretching the headlights, but it’s still there. Front wheels should be as possible to the bumper.

Merc has the same and now it seems BMW is following them.

Looks crap. Stupid bugs bunny front grills and FWD. I got the m140 because only fun RWD hatch. If BMW’s are all these new huge grills, it’s time to try some other brands

RE: New Vs Old 1 Series
The new basic one series doesn't look so good but I saw a pic of the new M135i with the added M Performance bits and it looked hot.. I nearly even thought it was the old A45 (far fetched i know) but it looked amazing.

I guess when I see it live I will appreciate it more.
