E90 320d worth it?
hi guys,

So I've not recovered from selling my E90 320d and am now looking to get another one.

the question is the that the e90 is from 2011 and sitting on 122 000km, good idea or not to go for something this old?

The guys with the e90's hows the reliability like after 100 000km?

Thanks guys

RE: E90 320d worth it?
I don't own an E90 anymore. This morning I drove past one on the highway and I just could not stop starring at it. ....Its a beautiful shape and if I had an opportunity (money, et al), I would buy one, but obviously the 330i.

from what I have read in my extensive researches, they are fairly reliable. I think its the right choice.

lets hear from current owners.

Current:
2014 320i M-Sport (Mrs)
2010 X5 3.0d XDrive (Family)
2005 325ci M-Sport (Mr) - Monday - Thursday
2003 330ci (Mr) - Friday - Sunday

Previous BMWs:
2012 328i Luxury Line - Powerful racy motor
2012 320i e90 - Solid built, disappointing performance
2004 320i e46 - Built like a tank, superb motor
2003 320i e46 - Money pit, lemon of note

RE: E90 320d worth it?
I do agree,
the E90 still looks real good.
However, it is now 2 generations behind,
Might be better to look at a F30, obviously budget dependent.

OR,
330d?Cartel

Get back into something a little different.

There's just something about the E90 LCI that I can't get away from.

I have a real problem I think lol

The E90 320d is a great car, but i would agree to rather look for a 330d.

Ive got a 2012 e90 320d. Amazing car. Sitting on 126k at the moment and ive owned it for a year now. Bought it on 112k km.

The car hasnt missed a beat. Yes ive spent a bit on it interms of brake pads and disks, and control arm bushings but those arent major issues. Just wear and tear items. And i know its sorted now for the near future.

The LEAST ive gotten off a tank is 770km smile bounce

Check my thread if you want more info.
You cant go wrong with one of these if you can find a good one. Big thumbs up from me Thumbs

Maybe this will give you the push you need Fencelook

RE: E90 320d worth it?
I sod my 2011 M sport to my brother , it had 118000km, it now has 127000km and no issues.

as preventative maintenance, gearbox needs to be serviced at ZF at around 140,000km and inspect damper pulley, other than that you safe.

Place the following 2 things at the top of your search:

1. Maintenance & services carried out, and preventative maintenance done
2. Owner history, as well as how the owner(s) looked after the car

330d E90 LCI DP & SW
2.0d F25 X3 - Hers

Thanks guys,
this is all awesome advice! I'm now just waiting for pics of the car including the service booklet and going to check service and repairs through bmw using the vin. This should give me a good indication.

judging from the number of 320ds I have seen with high mileage reliability seems fairly good...being an LCI most of the niggles should of been sorted in the model history...my buddy's pre Lci has ~ 350000kms still on original turbo...

E90 320d worth it?
So I’ve had my 2010 320d lci since 2012/2013, I can’t remember now.

Currently on 176k km. 90% highway driving and she hasn’t skipped a beat.

I had the turbo, gearbox, damper pulley and glow plugs replaced under motorplan just because I could and that has probably saved me money in the long run.

Out of plan since February 2015, other than routine services replacing air filter, oil filter, fuel filter and oil every 10 000km, the only things I’ve spent on so far are:

- Brake pads and discs twice because I got a rubbish set of ATE’s that warped within 2000km.
- Control arm bushes front and rear
- Koni shocks
- Intercooler, turbo and throttle seals as well as the pipe from the intake had to be replaced. Did this with Danny.

She’s been tuned and fitted DP for the last 70k km thereabout and not a day’s issue other than the above which comes with age and wear & tear.

It’s a very fun daily driver and I have an internal conflict on whether to keep her and get a toy or sell and get one proper daily.

But then I look at her...

They're beautiful cars, inside and out.
Very reliable as well if we'll maintained.

If you want to get one, make sure you get one with the N47T engine.

I agree that I'd you're able to afford an F30, may no be a bad idea.

I've had my '11 320d for just about a year now, apart from the routine oil changes I've had zero issues. Only "problem" is that I want to keep driving because that's how much I enjoy this car. I honestly don't thinkyou would be making a bad decision Cartel[/align]

Yea, as long as you check the vin first and ensure its the N47T.
