BMW e86 Z4: ABS/Wheel Speed Sensor Help
Hey guys,

I got the dreaded trifecta of error lights which point to a faulty ABS/wheel speed sensor.

Upon inspection I found the below.

Anyone have any idea what could have caused the damage? I don't want to fork out R1 600 for a sensor just to have that one also damaged.

Inside of the hub assembly where the sensor is located:

Advices appreciated.

The fun part of having that fault is that all driver's assists are turned off.

Side note: Take the computers word for it and dont test out whether the traction is indeed off while its raining.

It looks to me like it was making contact with the disk/hub...Could it be as simple as just using a washer to appropriately space it? if you check on realoem...does it show a washer in the expanded diagram?

RE: BMW e86 Z4: ABS/Wheel Speed Sensor Help
So below marked is the rear ABS/Wheel Speed Sensor.

Ive had the car for over a year with no issues regarding these sensors.

It only recently showed the error. I'm therefor inclined to believe that the damage was recently caused. However, i'm not sure how. My initial feeling is that something inside the hub is not staying where it is suppose to. Which is why im worried that if I buy a new sensor and fit it that it could just as easily also be damaged.
