Auto Transmission Oil change
Good day Fanatics

Is there anyone that can advise when the automatic transmission fluid in an F30 automatic should be changed if at all?

I asked BMW and was told never. I would think the oil would deteriorate after some time and should be changed at some time... My vehicle is currently at 83000km

Thanks

Thanks Yush1

I will contact them and ask.

Thanks Nikhil

I guess I better find a place to do it then, as BMW do not do it on MP and will probably charge a fortune if I insist on it being changed.

RE: Auto Transmission Oil change
ZF often run specials for around R3800 for a gearbox service.
Normal price is around R5500 IIRC.

As Nikhil mentioned 80-90k is a good time to replace the oil.

RE: Auto Transmission Oil change
BMW are seriously pulling the wool over eyes...... It is supposed to be changed at between 80 and 90k kms. That is the recommendation from ZF themselves! BMW dont do it because it would cost them too much in time and oil, that is the only reason technically. The other reason is they hope to catch you for a gearbox replacement bill out of motor plan - bastards!

Their favorite comment is "the gearbox has lifetime oil - no need to change it" - utter BS!!! what oil lasts forever I ask........Hammerhead

RE: Auto Transmission Oil change
Thanks all.

I will make a point to get it changed, although it will have to be outside of BMW.

Just a quick question, will changing the oil outside of a BMW stealership void my Motorplan?
