RACEDAY 2018 Schedule & Rules to Drivers and Specators
Good Day Guys/Gals

This year we catering for the track guys as well and have secured the Fantastic Red Star Raceway as the venue. The event is OPEN to ALL brands and petrol heads as it’s an attempt to unite the various enthusiasts from different clubs and brands!

Date: 14th July 2018
Venue: Redstar Raceway
Entrance for Drivers: R500 Entry per driver and R450 per Rider for bikes

SPECTATORS FREE!!!

Type of Event for track: Time Trials

Scrutinizing will begin at 7.15 followed thereafter by driver briefing at 8.00am (will be held in the Drivers Room Situated near the canteen)

Time Trials 8.30am - 12.30pm

3 classes for the day:
A – Experienced Driver – First Class out at 8.30
B – Novice/First Time drivers – Second Class out
C – Bikers class - Third class out.

PRIZE GIVING: 4.30 in the Main PIT area by grandstands

Class A & B are sold out. Bikes we still have space.

RULES FOR THE DAY - TRACK DRIVERS
• Each class will have a 15-minute session with a break of 2-3 minutes max between every class coming in and going out. This will be announced on the PA system to get outgoing drivers ready and lined up in the pits as well.
• This is TIME TRIAL track day, which means NO RACING!
• Each Driver or Rider will be issued a transponder to carry which will be used to record your times.
• Between each car going out, there will be a 5 second interval, which allows a fair gap between drivers.
• NO DIVEBOMBING (trying to gap into the inside before a bend to overtake the car in-front) or Overtaking in corners as its a TRACK Day. You go in first in to the corner, you come out first from the corner, unless the car in front moves over and wants to give way.
• Drivers, especially novice drivers, please use your mirrors and check traffic behind you. If you have cars that are faster behind you, move over and let them pass.
• Let’s keep it clean and avoid any issues.
• All Track Racing cars and bikes will be required to have the main sponsors logo on front windscreen. We have to insist on this, as that’s one of the prerequisites of the Sponsor. A Decal on the side passenger door with your race number will also have to be on the car. (BMWFanatics coordinators will give you both decals when you hand in your registration form and car is inspected)
• NO SPINNING at the Venue Allowed at all in the pit area or parking areas (Redstar will issue a fine immediately and you will be forced to leave the venue as well)
• NO alcohol
• No firearms
• A braai area with tables and chairs is shown on the sitemap – PLEASE NOTE -NO BRAAIS OR SKOTTEL BRAAIS IN ANY OTHER AREA!

Type of Event for Drags: Timed ¼ Miles

Scrutinizing will begin at 11.00 followed thereafter by driver briefing at 12.15pm (will be held in the Drivers Room Situated near the canteen)

Drags Racing Starts at 1pm - 4.00pm

PRIZE GIVING : 4.30pm in the Main PIT area by grandstands


DRAG RACING SLOTS ARE SOLD OUT!!!


RULES FOR THE DAY - DRAG RACING
• Drivers will exit the Pit lane and make their way to the drag racing area which is situated on the back stretch. There is a bend where drivers will be queuing up (2 cars side by side) and follow up to the staging area.
• Staging Area is marked off by 2 rectangular concrete blocks, warm your tires up and apply your water or tire adhesives on those blocks only. 1 burnout/warmup of tires per car. PLEASE ABIDE BY THIS RULE and proceed to the start line.
• There’s are 2 white lines running across the track, the 1st is the 200meter mark and the 2nd is the 400meter mark. The stretch is 700 meters long, so there is sufficient braking area for you to slow down. There is bend immediate after 700meters, so please be wary and follow the actual racetrack back to the queuing line.
• Please note, when following the return line back to the track, any honing on the track is at your expense and neither BMWFanatics nor Redstar can be held liable for any damage caused to your vehicle. Enjoy yourself, but don’t be irresponsible.
• Que up and follow the same procedures for your next runs, PLEASE DO NOT HOLD UP THOSE BEHIND YOU by waiting for or stalling for someone else as we want to get drivers to run as much time on track as possible.
• Cutting of Ques will NOT be tolerated, the 6 marshals provided by Redstar will be watching and any caught TRYING to jump a que will be sent back to the pits. Let’s be considerate of others.
• Let’s keep it clean and avoid any issues.

Red Star boasts
• 4km track in brilliant condition with a 700m long straight
• Shaded pits for racers- 16spots in front of pit lane and 40 at the back
• Timing equipment for the track day has also been secured so drivers will know their lap times
• Refreshments and meals can be purchased from any of the food vendors as well the canteen
 There will be Vape Stall as well for the guys who need their fix
• A braai area with tables and chairs is shown on the sitemap – PLEASE NOTE - NO BRAAIS OR SKOTTEL BRAAIS IN ANY OTHER AREA
• Pools and trampolines for the kids
• Clean toilets
• Shaded Grand stands situated above the pits
• Onsite medical teams
• Brilliant management teams in place
• There will be an exhibition area where all sponsors will be offering prizes and specials on their products for those attending!
• Speed & Sound will be attending and covering the event as well
• Divio-Photography and Retsilla media will be providing Professional photos and videography for the day
• RaceSa is an official partner and has endorsed the event.
With regard to the event itself we have secured numerous sponsors to make this reality and its time to show our appreciation by attending either as racers or spectators.
It’s going to be great day out for family as well with plenty to watch and keep the kids entertained as well.

Please use it to double check your cars before the event. Would hate to send anyone home.

PLEASE NOTE

- All cars using NOS and/or METH MUST have a FIRE EXTINGUISHER!!!
- Not compulsory for everyone else.
- Helmets are compulsory for both track and drag.
- Passengers must have helmets and sign indemnity forms.
- Drivers for track or drag who don’t have a signed formed will not be allowed on track

Scrutinizing Checklist:

 Tyre Tread/Slicks in good order
 Wheels secured using all required bolts
 Seatbelt in working order
 Battery Secure
 Engine Parts and Components mounted (no loose parts)
 No fuel/oil/water leaks
 All unnecessary personal items removed/secured
 No flammable items in car
 Fire Extinguisher in car (only compulsory for meth and nos cars)
 Helmet, long sleeve top, long pants, closed shoes
 Race Number on left ( rear window for drags, left door for track
