BMW PICK UP after new merc X class released
Let’s face it, a BMW pickup truck rendering was waiting to happen

Sometimes it’s the tiniest spark that triggers the biggest fire. Not that the world really needs premium pickup trucks, but after Mercedes-Benz revealed the X-Class, we’re seeing more and more renderings of such contraptions. Today’s guest: a potential BMW-badged pickup truck.

Let’s recap a bit the premium pickup truck’s short career in the car world. First, Mercedes-Benz takes the Alaskan/Navara NP300 platform and uses it to underpin the new X-Class.

Then, we got to see a Porsche Cayenne SUV turned pickup truck via the magic of Photoshop and now someone thought Munich could use a similar model to secure a piece of the pie.

Unluckily, the images aren’t joined by any information whatsoever. Yet we can’t help but notice how the ugly front end that screams Concept X7 iPerformance.

However, in the design study’s defense, it’s worth mentioning that the bulky proportions and chunky tires fall nicely into the general thematic. After all, a premium pickup truck is still a pickup truck.

We can’t tell whether BMW is exploring the possibility of building a pickup truck

Apparently Pick up Market in Australlia , Malasia , Usa is big . Now s.a is also growing in that segment .

I have a feeling its not long before BMW also competes in that segment for sales.

Agreed i it looks fugly .

RE: BMW PICK UP after new merc X class released
The thing is, we under estimate the number of people who are alive in the world with the "I got it first" syndrome. I know people that change cars every 2 years to whatever is new and exciting on the market and these said individuals have confirmed they will be getting the new Benz Truck as an affirmation of their pockets.... so that people can see that they are working and loaded lol

There is no doubt in my mind that even if that BMW truck render came to life. There will be a waiting list for it right here in The Republic Of South Africa.

If you are interested in something, No matter what it is
Go at it full speed
Embrace it with both arms
Love it
Live it
Be it
Above all become passionate about it

RE: BMW PICK UP after new merc X class released
I was on the pre order book for the X220d manual model.
My name was on the pre-booking list from March 2017.
My plan was to buy the vehicle, then flip it at a profit - knowing that there are countless rich idiots out there who would pay R100k over retail to secure one when it was launched, but did not have the foresight to pre-order.

Anyway, when I saw the indicative pricing and saw that an Amarok V6 Auto is only marginally more expensive than the X220d manual, but cheaper than the x250d manual, then I cancelled my order - noting that the Amarok kills the x250d on spec and power.

I fail to see who would pay over retail on the used market for an x-class - especially the base spec x220d manual that I was considering to flip.

However, seems like the top spec x250d 4x4 Auto is pushing R1million on used market. Pathetic - when you consider it is a Navara 2.3 4x4 Auto with a fancy badge and better interior...
