RE: Number plates south Africa
If you find someone living in a different area that is willing to sign an affidavit that you live with them or have some of your post delivered to him/her, it could be done. Cost is number plates and your normal licence fees.

RE: Number plates south Africa
Why would you want to do that? Its such a headache to sort out your license renewals after that . You have to continue providing a Proof of residency every time you do a renewal . What do you want to change it to ?

Marco7, I am confused. You want to keep it ND, but change the plates? Change to what?

Do you mean different type of plates, like plastic or something?

You can go to any plate printing place and get new ones, with proof of the registration belonging to you.

If that be the case, wouldn't that just be re-registering the car? I know in GP if a car is re-registered you get a new plate with the latest letters...

On second thought that will probably change it to ZN as those are the new number plates in Durban. So I guess you can't really get new numbers keeping the ND prefix.

i am curious to know your current registration number,it must be quite unique...

Also changing the numbers wont make the car any inconspicuous.

RE: Number plates south Africa
I don’t think the cops will memorize a number, especially with 6 digits. They will most likely remember the car itself, even if you change the plates.

Wrap it accountant silver and you will blend in and never get noticed!!
