INPA Help!
Hello

I am trying to help my brother with his 2007 330d pre-LCI. Could someone direct me to a working guide on how to set up BMW diagnostics? I followed one last night and it could not connect to the ECU. The cable I purchased for him is this one.

https://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/32539960...r_BMW.html

Any help would be appreciated thank you.

RE: INPA Help!
What software have you tried and what do you see as an error?

I would say, start with the one click install "Mike's Easy BMW Tools" package.

Now we are not allowed to link directly to tools and downloads on this forums, but I can link you to another forum where you can go grab the links from:
http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=1227470

Start with the one click install, thats the easiest and will get you most tools. Then if you are adventurous, you can try the ISTA-D software. That said, ISTA-D is much better and nicer to work with than only INPA.

I have the above running on a Windows 7 x64 virtual machine.

Also read about pint 7+8 on these cables related to cars before/after 2007:

RE: INPA Help!
ISTA-D can be installed on a windows 10 machine. 32 or 64 bit.

You welcome to come passed me and collect a version with ISTA P also and all files and instructions on how to get it installed and working.

Please note - Zipped files are about 160GB

RE: INPA Help!
Hi

So I followed the "one click" install and Still get the error below.

[Image: whatsapp image 2018-05-23 at 17.40.51_4688338031.jpeg]

It is a 2007 pre-lci 330d. I also checked the 7-8 pin solder check and tried soldered and unsoldered. At a bit of a loss. Any help would be great.

RE: INPA Help!
Very generic error, could still be any of many problems:

1. cable faulty
2. drivers not installed correctly
3. ediabas not configured correctly

Could also be the INPA install, but I am using that 1click installer and it works.

1 strange solution another guy found, his pin#8 was bent, so it didn't make contact with the car in the obd port:
http://blog.obdexpress.co.uk/2015/12/02/...trol-unit/

Where in the country are you located?

Or perhaps if you let someone help you with teamviewer to check the drive/configs while the laptop is plugged into the car to see if anything is missing. It could be something simple as wrong config/driver somewhere.

Hi, I am actually trying to help my brother with this. He is located in Vanderbijlpark and I have been helping him over teamviewer as best I can.

RE: INPA Help!
Hi Guys.

I'm a totally new to this whole diagnostics thing was wondering if there is anyone based in CT that would be willing to assist me with setting my laptop up.

My E83 is out of plan and gremlins are starting to creep up.

Currently having an issue with the PDC constantly beeping when engaging reverse Fencelook

RE: INPA Help!
The PDC sensors probably need to be cleaned (not sure how) and wiring checked. I am not sure if a code reader will give you any clues, as the beeps don't trigger warnings on the module.

I will check if my PA Soft (also usable on E83) has live reading for PDC module, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

RE: INPA Help!
* BUMP *

Chris Brand made contact and seems like a great guy, life probably happens and I'm having difficulty communicating. A handful of PM's in 2 months is difficult, I was in no particular hurry but I need to get this sorted.

Anybody else in the Cape Town (northern suburbs preferably) interested?
