F20 aftermarket screen replacement
So I have a f20 with the 6.5 inch screen. I think I want to upgrade this now... Motorplan is no longer a factor so I want to try. The two options below offer 8.8 inch and 10.1 inch screen sizes. Any thoughts?

Still trying to first get the cost of the item. Should not be more than 10g for sure from what i see on ebay,as the original one from bimmer tech is around 15grand excluding shipping.

Only reason I am going aftermarket is that BMW really does not work well with android, and these units look like they do as it has mirrorlink

I have checked on YouTube how to remove the trim so I think I will attempt it myself

@Holiman

I just ordered 10.25" for my 2017 X1.... hope it works. Been stuck at customs since 2nd Aug

It's not LUXURY if it's not COMFORTABLE

From where did you get it? I have also ordered mine. Hoping to not run into those issues. Hoping for delivery month end

I ordered online from car-life mall. Looks like a straight forward diy install

Would these aftermarket screens still interface with the onboard computer?

Yes they do. Check out this unit from Avin in USA. Its the same type of unit, they basically source it from China as well. the native system is fully usable with the I drive knob and all. This review should help. Helped me make my choice. Will do a full review similar to this one, once I get receive the unit.

If you also have time, check out this guys videos. Did a few cool things to his car. He fitted wireless charging as well. I will also try that but with a bit of twist. Will post that once its done.
