My 5c too.... I don't trust vehicle inspections at all. Especially when done for the 'smaller' dealerships, as I gather these are all 'corrupt' to some or other degree, and done based on paper more than a physical inspection.

Case in point - my old Z3 - I bought from a "dealership" in Pretoria. 'Roadworthy' and 'Inspection' done. All good, and I loved the car and there were no issues... until the day I sold it.RedNo

Turns out the engine number didn't match the paperwork. Should have never been roadworthy'd in that condition and sold in the first place.

Luckily after numerous phone calls, queues, police clearance visits, I managed to sort it out... but never again shall I buy a car from a smaller 'dealer'.

btw - I ended up getting the full likely history from the previous owner. What a story. SmashScreen

Unfortunately the reality is that one even has to inspect a brand new car yourself before delivery.
