Thank you.

Yeah I am enjoying the build more than I though I would. However it does seem that it's cheaper to buy the car outright opposed to building it..
That being said, my next one I will definitely build again, you learn the car and know exactly what is going in. When this one is done I will build the garage and then start on a second one.

Hey Pho3nix90,

Nice progress - forgot to ask you about the shocks...when you need them done - give me a shout and I will help you out.

The hard brake lines, that you can have done - or do it yourself.

I am at the same hurdle on my car - hard lines need to be bent up, can use a bending tool and brake lines bought at Norbrake...find the route you want, bend your hard lines to their final locations, take your pipes as is to norbrake or the likes and they can flare the ends for you...dont waste money buying the tool and trying to flare it yourself (Friends experiences talking here - the proper flare tool is a few grand alone).

The progress on this project is good - keep it up!

Thank you,

Weird enough when I was there I wanted to ask them if they sell them, however for some reason never did. Will have to visit them again.

Things I am still waiting for, needs to be done.
  • Management System
  • Fuse box, wiring
  • Headlights
  • Indicators
  • Brake lights
  • Fuel lines
  • Brake lines
  • Water hoses
  • Roll cage
  • Cladding still needs to be done, only after engine is fitted
  • Propshaft needs to be made ( not sure who is reputable to make one?)
  • Fuel pump
  • Fuel tank needs to be made, with scavenger tank
  • Oil cooler
  • Gauges
  • Windscreen

Items not as important, but a nice to have
  • Possibly converting the waterpump to electrical, this will remove the need for belts, however seems these are pricy, any suggestions will be appreciated.
  • Need a new distributor, one received with engine from japauto is cracked, or possibly converting it to individual coils

RE: Lotus 7 track car build
Would not mind taking on a build like this one day.

I remember when the original TG team did a similar thing, I can remember Jezza wanting to hit everything with a hammer. Rofl

Really interested to see the end result of this build.

Good luck!
