Are all fuels equal? CAR mag. arcticle

Hi Gents

As a follow up from the Diesel thread, I thought I would share this with the larger community.

I'm sure most of you are CAR mag subscribers but for those who did not see the article on fuels, here's two pages from the feature. 'Xcuse the quality..:fencelook:

The feature was sponsored by SASOL & it's no surprise that their fuels both diesel & petrol rate tops. BP also seems to be on par with SASOL. SASOL has a dedicated center in Slaapstad with a few dynos etc. It's quite interesting to see what the base fuel sans additives from the refinery does to your engine.

Note that the comparisons are done on marketing information from the various fuel suppliers & not physical samples from the pumps.

If anyone has the CAR digital edition I'm sure they could post it here.

Cheers

I can't see a thing, except for the graph which looks a tad fake, used as a marketing technique. But still interesting. However, I've filled my diesel with Sasol twice before and have seen no special results.

Its no use to try and compare fuels as the garage owners are more and more mixing their fuel. Its bad enough that we are stuck with kak fuel and then they go and mix it with more kak!!

First page shows graph with failing injectors and loss of power within 36 hours of using and how SASOL gets the car back to max power within 16 hours.

Second page shows additives for Petrol and Diesel cars.

Petrol:
1.SASOL TURBO
2.BP ULTIMATE
3.ENGEN PRIMAX
4.SHELL V-POWER NITRO
5.CALTEX TECHRON

Diesel:
1.SASOL TURBO
2.BP + ENGEN + CALTEX
3.SHELL V-Power + TOTAL EVOLUTION

I've heard that you get more kilometers on 95 then on 93 even though you it's more expensive...Anybody know if there is any truth to this claim?
