Cars and Coffee

Hi Guys.

Was chatting to a buddy of mine overseas and when i was he was at an event which is held by different enthusiast clubs often. Its not limited to specific brands or whatever but this is what it is...

As the title says, Cars and Coffee. Like the Ice Cream Meets, this is held at a Garage but not at night. Morning, like a breakfast meet. The guys overseas go as far as having it on a weekday before work but i think we can safely have it on a weekend.

What do you guys think? Like the ice cream meets, its not limited to Coffee, can be breakfast or Lunch. As long as its during the day, in broad daylight.

Main purpose is, to get the enthusiasts together but another purpose is to cater for the photographers. Clean cars and daylight...

We have lunch meets from time to time. Usually not a lot of guys come through but might bt because we have it on weekdays.

But great idea.
There is also a breakfast run on the 5th to stonehave in vanderbjil park, and im arranging a car show on the 25th of may.
Not sure where you are from but i think they are worth taking a look at.

we used to have wimpy meet ups,but they have disappeared

just hope i can make it due to working shifts and every weekend.

Ahh yes, i have been for one lunch meet. However those are on a weekday. A weekend would be better...

And, not having it at an event. Would be better to have it as an event itself. The purpose is to get fanatics together.

But i like your ideas too.

I like this idea a lot, especially as I cannot without a hell of a mission attend the ice cream meets…

:idea: Why not just arrange it the same way the guys do the ice cream meet up's

Meet up, drive somewhere and talk kak for a while… :thumbs:

Yeah, I put this up but i dont have a free weekend for atleast the next month. So lets rather discuss and gather ideas and set a date convenient for all?

We should do it.:joy: Think we would have a bigger turnout if it is on a Sunday.

That is so frieken weird that you made this thread. I SWEAR I was just about to start the same thread, talking about opening a coffee place called CARS and COFFEE, similar to the one in Paris or LA.

Glad to see we share the same thoughts.

If I had the capital, I'd open a shop called CArs and Coffee and make it all about the love of cars... :thumbs:

Thanks... Yeah same here. Each time i plan to go for the Ice Cream meet i always end up falling asleep while waiting for time to go by. And i cannot sleep in, old age and years of waking up early. Is it just me or does everyone suffer to get up during the week yet on weekends get up before your alarm usually goes off?

We can do that, but during the day even on weekends there is a lot more traffic on the roads. I dont think we should even make a "run" out of it. Simple, meet at a garage, open area'd parking lot with a coffee shop near by. Stand around, chat, take pics.

The complex where the Pick n Pay is in Woodmead has a News Cafe at as you enter. Its on the opposite end of the shops and theres a huge parking area. We could meet there on a Sunday morning or even around 10am if all are keen. I would say early morning as many cans till spend the rest of the day with family or rest.

Thunder, i will have a look at your event and see i can make it.

Crash, Bud, i would be glad to chip into this venture. Always wanted something like that.

Coffee shop ala Roadhouse style!! Where the cars park in an open parking lot and the coffee comes to you.

I'm in for this.. Since we in Woodmead, let's make the coffee Seattle coffee..(there is one opposite the Engen garage there) The BEST coffee in the world!!

I have to agree!! The only problem with that place is the parking limitations, but the security will make a plan, they know me well enough as that's a daily stop for me, even on a sunday :thumbs: Best coffee in town!
