RE: Project Drift Monster_Continued
Guys,

Thanks for the kind words, I have delayed the updates somewhat - so I can promise, that whatever I update with, will carry a whole lot of weight.

RE: Project Drift Monster_Continued
Hi Guys,

Its been a while since my last update.

I have made some good progress on this front, although not the progress I had hope for.

I had managed to get the car resprayed. Still awaiting some of the components, but overall - the car is not contracting surface rust. Below are some progress pics - since then I have fitted the fenders, and will need to get bonnet clips to have the bonnet fitted to see how much I need to cut to fit my air cleaner on top of the v8 Lump.

Progress on the Paint work

More,

And Some,
[Image: DSC_0216_zpswlnflkyg.jpg]
The interior has been fully coated since. White looks nice, but not having windows and an enclosed workshop - I realized its not so cool anymore when it teams up with dust.
The rear end is done - I am awaiting a new boot lid as my previous one had lost its fight to rust, thanks to holes drilled to fit a rear spoiler.
It got quite a nice coat - considering its not in a booth, or done by a professional.
Not sure if I posted this one - but managed to get the belt fitted - all pulleys aligned. Now to remove the existing steel bracket, trace a template and have a complete bracket made up of ally, or a fresh set of steel.
I started making templates - I made some templates for the tunnel cover.
I have also made templates for the front and rear door windows. I successfully cut templates for the door panels(Pics to follow on the next update). I used these templates to cut out 2mm Ally sheet, which will be used for various parts in the car namely: Door panels, Dash board, rear parcel tray and footwell platforms. I must say - working aluminium is not as easy as it sounds.
I will try and update more pics by tomorrow evening.

RE: Project Drift Monster_Continued
Thread Revival time!!!!

I honestly gave up documenting the progress due to the pictures i pain stackingly compiled and posted up which duly disappeared and lost links.

I am glad to check in and see that they are all there now(well the last 3 pages worth...and I shall now continue to document).

Thank you to one and all that sorted this thread out....Much appreciated.

Last year - was a rough one on many avenues, and i got $hit done, so this year - The Driftmonster will breath life into it!

Keep checking in, I shall update shortly.

For all the followers, progress has been slow, but steadyCoolShake - for all the Haters....Keep hating!!!BlueCry

Hope to update with some generous pictures and interesting findings along the way of building this "Machine".....

Subscribed. The shell looks awesome with the new paint job and the cage fitted. No longer a street car. This is going to look the part.

RE: Project Drift Monster_Continued
Audi Driver - its a labour of love - pure love, otherwise I would have taken some fuel and a match to it long ago!!!

If I could direct my whole salary to this car - I would have it up and running within a month, but unfortunately that is not the current state of affairs, but working towards it.

Agreed - its going to look the part when its done, even if its done in the comfort of my own "back yard".

Guys, currently busy with some work - and catching up on the project. As soon as things cool off, I will give a generous update.

Until then, Keep it Slidewayz!!!

RE: Project Drift Monster_Continued
Patience Captain-San,

I don't promise, otherwise there would be a lot of young women out there with a lot of broken hearts...I give updates...

There is a lot going on at the moment, if I want to work on my car, Ill have to chisel some dust off first...Im prepping my garage and work area, to be a bit more efficient.

As soon as I am done sorting out years or goodies, which luckily is coming to a close as we speak...I will give the updates.

It has however, progressed since the last time you saw it Cap.

The next time you guys see an update on this thread by me, it shall be me, updating the picture hungry DIY and Hobby builders.
