Pretty upset with the Beetle Forum at the mo...

They were planning it for the weekend of the 14th June (which is also TOP GEAR in Durban), plus it's a long weekend before holidays start

Now they've moved it to weekend of the 31st May, which conflicts with UNISA exams :argh:

I have been for Dubrun twice, in my BM's. What a trip. Its simply awesome. The first year we had close on 100 cars and last year about 80 IIRC.

Im probably going to skip this year as im taking leave end of April for my sisters wedding.

Usually they drove down and attended the Autostyle Show.

Last year, the Durban crew arranged a show and shine, dyno day at Beach bums which was epic.

Its also tradition for them to meet on the Saturday and basically spend the weekend together as a bunch of car nutters.

To me: The simple drive down with a group was epic, i had most fun. Although speeds sometimes do not exceed 100km\h as you can imagine with over 60 cars in convoy it is still most fun. Lots of rolling shot pictures by some of the resident photographers and the usual blackberry sticking out the windows etc. It might not seem like a lot, but trust me it is fun.

Last year, myself and Sareshen went along with our BMW's. No matter what car you drive. This will be fun.

I must say, the VW Club has great events through the year. This weekend is their dyno day on Sunday at KAR.

If you want to you can, its not a requirement. In the Dubrun pack (you get this when you participate/pay) you get a Dubrun tshirt, roll of blue tape and some stickers IIRC. I would suggest taping up the front end to prevent stone chips. Remember, you riding with 50 -100 other cars and will be in stone chip distance from the car in front.

Heres some pics from Dubrun 2012. As you can see, many other car brands attend. All are welcome...
