Excellent results - Thanks Carbon Doctor
My car got the "Carbon Doctor treatment" this past Friday.

We didn't know what to expect, as my car has just over 121 000km on the odo. But it was quite bad, the carbon...

But I am awed by the results of the carbon clean.

Firstly, my car had a distinct rough idle. That is gone, and the idle is smooth now.

After taking it easy for the first couple of kays, I also had to survive the traffic, I did some WOT runs.
But immediately after leaving, I could feel the car is different, for lack of a better word, smoother.

On the WOT runs, there is a tangible difference in performance. The car pulls stronger than it ever did since I've owned it (almost 50 000km's).

On the 270 odd km drive home, the fuel consumption dropped from 8.8 km/l to 10km/l. I was in a hurry to get home, and made use of the horses that Carbon Doctor woke up.

Overall, I'm am happy with the result. Actually the result exceeded my expectations.

I for one will definately take my car back to Carbon Doctor when it is due for another clean.

Thanks Carbon Doctor.

Hopefully George will load a few photo's later.

Firstly as a car fanatic first, Riaan has one of the cleanest 335's we have worked on and I congratulate him for looking after it so well.

Here is what we found prior to the carbon clean.
Best port before:

Worst port before: This one had 3mm of carbon around the stem and 2mm on the valve itself. The wall before the seat had 4mm.

These photos are taken 1 stage prior to completion. If we polish up the entrance of the port its impossible to photograph anything due to the glare. We are working on a solution to get the right brightness lighting to make this possible. The place the manifold sits on is cleaned eventually to a mirror finish. This does not appear in the pictures again for photo graphical reasons.

Best port cleaned.

Worst port cleaned: This photo was taken at the stage that we inspect the valve seat to see if carbon has pushed through. If this happens it causes sticky valves as well as compression problems. Valves where perfect in this case. Everything looks perfect but if you look at the right valve at 10 o clock there is a stubborn piece of carbon that we got of during the final polish stage.

What would this exercise cost on an E90, 330i?

We will be announcing opening specials once we have finalised our conventional injection option.
