VIN: s and built dates of all the 72 made 540i/6 E34 South-Africa

I want your help to find out exterior/interior colors of these cars. I have full data of all other 540i/6 E34 (total 3203 cars made) but the 72 cars made in Rosslyn South-Africa I only have built date and VIN.

To be able to do a full chart of colors/interior and equipment I need info.

The last built 540i/6 E34 Limousine is built in South-Africa (BB82070) and also the only one built in 1996.

I have pictures of BB82028 and BB82056 + some other HE98 that I don't know which one they are.

Can you scan a copy of that testarticle in that 2007 magazine for us?

I wonder, as they were build late, if they were build with alusil or nikasil engines. M60 Engine. Both the E34 BMW 530i and 540i shared the M60 engine, which used Nikasil bore linings. In America and the United Kingdom this made both susceptible to premature engine wear, as high sulphur content in petrol in those markets resulted in deterioration of the linings. BMW then introduced an Alusil version of this engine, which solved the problem.

M60B40 (540):

1 725 963 - Nikasil
1 742 998 - Nikasil
1 745 872 - Alusil

These numbers are stamped into the engine block, and are visible from under the vehicle.

I have attached the scans on the New Zealand forum, but I don't succeed here.

i have car no. 9....http://pbckt.com/sL.NKwC sorry about crappy pics... used the camera on my phone and my driveway is not very wide...

i think the link to some pics should work... 180k on the clock, full service history, absolutely original everything... well, thats what i was told.... found a K & N filter in the airbox though.... motor is still clean. about to do an oil change and then give it a workout. only bought it this week so i havent really worked it yet. its not as quick as you'd expect, but i suppose the 1750kg kerb weight has something to do with that... engine has an awesome appetite for revs and the gearbox, once warm, is sweet... tie-rods and l/c arm are worn, replacing soon... will be looking at coilovers, poly bushes, and maybe an LSD...

p.s. castrol gtx high mileage should be okay? or what should i be using?

hi I own number 28, diamond black, black interior e34 m5 mags, all std except 4 the pipes. puts 139 kw on the wheels @ sav speed.

BB82070 , British racing Green with black leather interior .
The dealer cannot supply a complete build sheet for this model .
I bought it with the M5 bumper on , a M-tech bumper is scarce in South Africa .

13 October 2015 : BB82014 is for sale on Gumtree , Daytona Violet colour and it has only a throwing star spare wheel , others are a different mag .
