My New (old) 2011 135i DCT N55 - Update: PDC Module fix

Hi Guys

I Picked up this little pocket rocket a week ago, its a 2011 DCT N55 with just 65000km.
It was pretty much bought site unseen (had a friend check it out for me twice and did my own due diligence with Cois and a friend at BMW that got me the MP service History)

The Good
- Car had 1 owner for the first 10 years of its life before it was owned for about 2 years by its second owner before me.
- Low miler, clean healthy car , honestly still drives tight and true and has a fun factor of about 11, i missed the good old hydraulic steering since i sold my Z4M.
it feels nimble and the size for everyday living is perfect for me.
- Motor is perfect, sounds and performs great as it should.
- DCT box is excellent, shifts are quick and smooth as supposed to be.
- Brand New tyres fitted all round.
- Car has OEM factory Performance Power Kit. (dont know much about this but will appreciate any comments educating me more on what it entails)
- FSH and No maintenance work needed currently and had almost 19k of work done on it last service in 2023 at BMW.
- No oil leaks and engine bay seems stock and dry (which i like)

The bad
Car has a comment for an accident back in early 2017 with the first owner whilst still on extended Motorplan, I could not get any details of the extent of damage other than what the MotorPlan history states which is "accident repair, work done by an non - approved BMW repair centre", motroplan was not terminated because of this so that may be a good thing, from what im assuming it could not have been that bad as it was repaired and kept by the first owner for another 4 years after that. also i cannot find any major sort of repair work , bar a fender and bumper that had spray work. all glass is still original as well as windscreen. suspension gubbons all look fine and original with also no evident repair work.
- Car came with a hideous M boot badge which was an eye sore and i quickly contacted Firi and got a replacement gloss black badge.
- I cannot pick up any preventative water pump work being done so will have to get this sorted soon.
- Has bigger tail pieces, which protude and i dislike, will look for a set of stock ones
Any comments , sharing of knowledge will be appreciated.
also the previous owner had left his drivers license in the car so if any you know him please put me in touch.

We found it lacking đź‘€

MPE is a great addition - a good deal indeed!

Just note that when/if you do DP, the car will be markedly louder and the MPE is likely the culprit here. It's designed with the cat in mind.

Don't get me wrong, the car sounds insane with DP + MPE, but it becomes quite loud and will even drone in certain highway circumstances.

I also turned off the cold start routine because that combo in a complex is lethal.

This is a hard one as one is manual with an NA motor, the other is a turbo with a dct, cant really give a fair comparison as they are both different in their own right , the low slung position in the Z4MC sitting over the back wheels with a long bonnet and the glorious S54 made it feel more special and sports car like, the 1er has a less harsh ride and with its adequate power mated to the dct and easier dimensions make it way more fun to live with daily driving and spirited driving, it has a somewhat roomy cabin and folding back seats which make it feel more useable and practical, the N55 has its own unique character and reminds me a bit of the S55 in my M4.

Z4M = Legend (but impractical and a bit serious)
135i = More Fun and easier to live with

The hydraulic steering feel in both are the only reasonable comparison i can make , and imo the E-series BMWs with hydraulic steering was probably the peak of that era, I've owned newer BMWs and drove other cars with electric steering and while they great and have their benefits, the feel and feedback of an old school hydraulic rack is bliss to a petrolhead

Thanks bud, no plans to add a DP right now, but will definitely keep this in mind when i do, i like that its really loud on cold start but its more civil once warmed up

Some updates.

Angel eye rings were changed from OE yellowish halogens ones to White LED i ordered from @FiRi@Rennzport. quick response and delivery time and looks to be a quality product.
next up i change the Stop/Start button to red as the original one had a smudge.
also ran into a weird problem last week where the PDC stopped working, i was dreading having to buy a new module, however i realized it was intermittent , the rear PDC triggers when car is in reverse but acts up when putting into drive, i realized it could be one of the sensors that are faulty but decided to rule out the fuse first as this would be the cheapest fix, and waala problem fixed.
