Hello Fanatics.
Been a minute since cracking out a thread on a new build. With the 335 being sold in April 2021, the hunt began for an X3 to get the family into. The 120d was also to be sold once an x3 was found so I had to plan accordingly.
Extras I wanted :
• Xenons
• Reverse cam
• Panoramic roof
• M sport
• Under 100k kilos
I was fine with pre lci or lci and a 20d within budget and started looking around. Spoke to various 20d owners who told me drive a 20d and then make decision, as it's not the same type of power I was used to in the 120d due to size and weight.
A few weeks later I got the oppotunity to drive a 20d and immediately made up my mind to find a 30d instead.
Found one in PTA and despite confirming availability of the car multiple times with dealer over a 4 day period including the Friday I was en route to see the vechile, they dropped the badly.
Upon arrival we were made to wait and driven to their washbay, then panel shop then back to dealer and finally told the car was sold. Needless to say I was absolutely fuming, not because it was sold, but moreso because I drove the 130kilos and the swines couldn't even be frank and say it was sold despite me calling that morning to confirm its available.
However I carried on searching and stumbled upon one on Gumtree which was removed the next day. Luckily I took a screen shot when I 1st seen it and was able to contact the seller.
The cost was way more then I anticipated, but the car from the pics had me wanting as it ticked way too many boxes to be ignored.
Did the relevant homework with regarding history of the vechile and it turned out I knew the 1st owners pretty well.
Wife told me immediately when I showed her a picture, irrespective of whatever else I see, she knows my head and heard is set on this specific one because of its spec and interior. She's knows all too damn well.
Went through and viewed the car, test drove it and fell in love with it. Came home again and did my mandorty prayers for guidance and discussion with my wife, and a week later we pulled the trigger and went to collect it.
Specs below:
