Merchandise Survey - How much would you pay?
Prices seems fair, however I agree with the others the quality needs to be of a high quality. The pit shirt and jacket is a great idea. Embroidery is the way to go, screen and transfer heat prints don't last.

Dont outprice the items, the BMW travel mug is costing R249. Get your cost and put a percentage profit on, say 30%, rather sell more and have a happy fanatics group.

With the up in merchandise attention, the team is curious to know how much you are willing to pay for items...

If you could post your thoughts around what you would be prepared to pay. Note, we will be using medium to best quality materials in all cases. Most items will be embroidered or engraved (not screenprint or stick on).

Clothing:
Tshirts - R250 to R350
Long Sleeve Tops - R350 to R500
Short Sleeve Pit Shirts - R500 - R650
Jackets - R400 to R700 (depending on Jacket)

Gifts:
USB Sticks (8gb) - R150 to R200
Notebook + Pen set - R200 to R300
Thermal Mug/Flask - R250 to R350

(There will be more items, these are just a few examples.)

Are these prices reasonable? Will you buy if sold at these guideline prices?

We gauging interest as well as testing the market and also the result of this thread will lead us to choose our supplier.

Thanks
Arbee

At those prices, i have looked at the highest quality the supplier has to offer.

But, looks like the members are not interested in Merchandise... Look at the pit shirts thread, been up for 3 weeks and only 3-4 people have bought. The profit margin on the pit shirts is R8... Yes, eight rands...

Perhaps, lower the quality for a lower price?

Yas, i think it might pick up a bit as time passes. I for one am curious about the fit and quality, but dont want to burn R600 on something i might not enjoy. Seeing it in person might answer my questions. Same thing thing happened to me with the previous batch of shirts, i only ordered after seeing someone wearing one.

I understand... But, without the initial burst, we wont have the funds for future merch. Its a ripple effect.

R8 x 50 units is not much of a profit. But the vendors that have sponsored towards the Pit Shirts will be assisting us by making further merchandise possible.

RE: Merchandise Survey - How much would you pay?
The problem is the suppliers want to do bulk or nothing. So we have to pay for the 50 shirts first before we can get one made. If the suppliers could do small quantities like 5 at a time I think it would be easier to handle. We can then at least get the first batch and show them off.

That would definitely cause a problem.

RE: Merchandise Survey - How much would you pay?
Pricing for most items seem fair. The t-shirt on the other hand I feel is a bit much. This is a item that will be worn most of the time, so will be sold more frequently. Drop the price a bit and sell more is what I say. All this while still maintaining a good quality garment. Something that is light, non restrictive around the "boop pents" and comfortable. As for personalized tops, I think its a waste of time, we have mouths, lets use it at the next meet! Rollsmile

If they did make only 5 the price would probably be even higher...
