Suspension (cambers) an X5's
Hey guys,
I posted under Technical Discussion on Suspension, but no reply. Can anyone help me with info regarding an E53's rear cambers. I know that it is generally a negative camber, but my car's cambers are excessively negative and it (according to Tiger Wheel & Tyre) cannot be adjusted further. Can I repair the bottom susp bushes, or replace with what, or what do I need to budget for. If any of you guys know, please let me know, I am to scared to start asking around at the dealers, because the only thing they will tell me is to replace and that the parts are only availible at the dealers! RE: Suspension (cambers) an X5's
I know Dastek HI Q modify some Honda's ( I think the CRV) rear suspension because of bad non adjustable cambers.
Speak to Naas he will give you the right advice. 012 347 4003 |

RE: Suspension (cambers) an X5's
I also inquired about this a while ago, as I had excessive rear tyre wear on the insides only. Most of the tyre places I went to said this is normal on the X5, especially with the sports suspension - as it is set up for optimum handling.
If you are worried about tyre wear, I suggest you swap your left and right tyres (i.e. take them off the rims and swap) so that you have slightly better wear. I've also been told that the speed rating (i.e. electronic limiter) on the X5 with sport suspension is slightly higher than the normal X5, largely due to the suspension. Hence, maybe look at the normal (non sports) X5 suspension bits if you need to change - but then, you may sacrifice high speed stability and safety ... Please post here, if you find any other new info ... as I am also keen to know more about this. Oh, one more thing. Go to a tyre place near a BMW dealer or somewhere that see's quite a few X5's a month, as they may be in a better position to advise .... my 2c. ![]() '03 BMW E46 330i Individual '05 BMW E53 X5 3.0D '07 Yamaha R6 Track Bike (for sale - click here for details) |

RE: Suspension (cambers) an X5's
Dastek Hi Q say the suspension is adjustable. Those guy are good I have taken plenty of cars their before including both shape X5's both with sport suspension.
When last have you seen someone put weight in the car "because the spec say so" when doing wheel alignment? |
