BMW E36 323i M52 ECU remap recommendations

Warning BMW E36 323i M52 ECU remap recommendations
Hello all,

I’ve just relished that I made a huge mistake in my build. And therefore I think I’m responsible for the destruction of my own engine and past engines in the car.
I’ve upgraded the normal 323I (m52b25) engine to a more powerful (M52B28) engine. Upgraded the normal (323i branches to WILDCAT branches), and now want to upgrade the normal M52 intake manifold to M50B25 intake manifold.
Currently the car is very light on fuel (8.3L/100KM on the open road, 9.5L/100KM city driving & max 11L/100KM when driving like Schumacher) but the power never seemed to what a 328I must produce.
The mistake I made, I NEVER HAD THE ECU re-mapped!!!!!!!!!!! (Siemens MS4 1.0)
Suspect that the engine’s were running too lean…. Causing damage to the valves & piston rings.

Any recommendation on who can remap the car after I fit the new Manifold?

why don't you just get a 328i ECU?
You should be able to pick them up relatively cheap from a scrapyard and in comparisan to a remap, you'll have the Full Monty at the same price Idea

Issue is, Its not just about changing the ECU. ECU, ews and transponder key must all be changed. The complete harness & electronic systems came from a 323I import

Whole set should cost about R2K , IMHO to rechip dyno etc will cost more .

Okay, I can do that. That will solve my power issue and save the next engine. LOL.
What about when i fit the M50 manifold? I did fit it before on my current ECU. Had NO power at bottom end and really had to drive it hard to get power out of it. Most threads i read so far say that u must remap the ecu?

*ggg* don't play these games if you already know that you are going to have troubles!
A remap will not solve the problem of lack of power on the bottom end.... its the design of the intake manifold Thumbdown

I am, merely pointing out that the ECU from the 328I (With 328I map) is not a bad idea, But I was thinking, what if I fit the M50B25 manifold as well for added power.
PS. Please note that It’s NOT the design of the M50 manifold that makes the 323/328I weak at bottom end (Otherwise the 325i wouldn’t have been only 1kw less than the 328i, secondly the 325I pulls from bottom right to high revs. PS I own a 1994 325i As well)
If someone TUNES the current ECU (NOTE that the 323i has the exact same ECU as the 328i only the map differs), the car will have to be dyno tuned & re-mapped according to that.
See links below of people who have fitted M50 manifold and solved the LACK of POWER with a TUNE. (OR REMAP of their ecu’s)

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic...34829&nmt=

But Thanks anyway,
I would have to look around hard for a 328I ECU with ACS. Don’t really want to lose mine.

RE: BMW E36 323i M52 ECU remap recommendations
Well I have a 325i non vanos and 328i and they differ but the 325i does like to be revved . The 328i , Audi A4 2.8 and the Merc C280 all had 142 Kw as it was a German power limit for taxes , over that and you paid a lot more that is why all three had the same power .

The M50 manifold ,good exhaust and a remap will work , the 328i then comes alive . This is also nice with a 3.15 diff , even down to a 3.46 you then have very good pull but hit the limiter in 5th !! ( My 325i has a 3.46 !!! )
