JB4 Review
Hi Guys I just thought I'd share my experience with your'll.
I received my JB4 about 3 weeks now via Charles and I must say he's quite helpful and promt when it comes to assisting, well done on the excellent service guys.

Apon opening the package looking at the array of wires I did get overwhelmed of the install. But reading the instructions given to me by Twinz it really didn't seem all that hard. All in all the total install took me about 30 mins. Trust me guys I'm not really good with things like this but this was very easy to do with the right tools.

Ok all was fitted and time to start her up. Pushed the start button and she fired up so all was well in the install. Now time for the good stuff.

Activated the selection menu then calibrated for 135i metric. Scrolled thru the menu's to familiar with the system. Its very easy to use.

Selected shift light and set to 6600 rpm (really cool function btw) then selected Map1 13 psi which is like 0.9 bar or so. Took her out for a spin was abit confused at this point as the power was really apparent. Decided to drive to Toti for some errands and to my surprise on my way back Boom the boost started getting abit more aggressive and pulling much stronger. Pull over to the side of the road selected my gauge hijack (for those that don't no about this func it converts ur fuel gauge to a boost gauge and ur oil l temp gauge into timing or to monitor ait's) another excellent funtion.

Put the right foot down moving thru the gears the car pulled hard and smooth all the way to redline so I was pretty happy with the performance.

Later on that night I threw in some nf race 100 oct. The hooked up my lap top for some logs via the usb connection to the JB4. It was a pretty normal DBN night humid and hot as hell. Selected Map1 did 3 logs. Then stopped and selected Map2 14.5 psi which should be around 1bar boost and OMG no adaption time and the car pulled very strong of the bat. Did 3 more logs. Then tried Map7 16.5 psi. Let me just say 3rd gear wheelspin did not go well with me so only 1 log with that. Think I just need to adapt to the new found power. On a side note the fuel to boost looked pretty accurate.

Went home open up the logs and Map1 looked fine to my knowledge hitting boost targets and timing looking fine not really drops. The same for Map2. Map7 saw me hitting boost targets and also timing wasn't too bad. The stock DME looked like it was doing the job regulating the timing. Ait's on the map7 run were slightly higher but that was bcos of the 6 previous logs done without cooldown period and stock IC and of course high ambient temps.

Just to verify my findings on the logs I emailed Terry and cc'd Twins and even though it was late Twinz replied and Terry replied within 5/10 mins. Not that bad reaction time. Big ups to both of your'll. Both replies where the same 'great logs all is looking in order' the only request was for me to do more logs on Map7 as the logs looked good for such little mods or no mods on the car.

I must say I'm very satisfied with the JB and its capabilities. Its just time to add on more mods.

I met Avi333 and zeynm3 took them for a few runs, I will let them coment on the feel of the car. As I said anybody interested don't feel shy to contact me I actually love jumping in for those spirited drives.

I keep you guys updated as I do more testing and hopefully some dyno runs soon. Big thanks to Twinz and Revo for the help you guys are awesome keep up the good work.

Very nice feedback Laloosh. Glad we could make the purchase and installation experience a happy one. Enjoy the tune. Your DPs and DCI should reach you soon and hopefully in time for the next drag day.

RE: JB4 Review
Would like to know what you think of map 5, as I find it very very conservative and not as smooth as map1 on a stock car, stil have to send out my logs but will do that shortly!!

The cars feel very different at altitude. You going to have to log and alter your maps for high rpm as you most probably not hitting the boost targets.

I have been toying with a V5 and have realized the maps need quite a bit of work for up here.

Nice going Laloosh. There is no substitute for boost. When you start getting to 17-19psi you will realize what these cars are capable of.

RE: JB4 Review
Ill try and get those boost numbers soon enough, racegas 105 and fbo and we'll see what this jb4can do! I've done most of my logs, just need to send them out, I just thought that the autotuning would compensate for our altitude and shitty fuel, but it seems it still needs some work! Terry will do it as time passes, so as usual, time will tell!

RE: JB4 Review
Hi guys. Map 5 is far from ready. I have been logging and testing on it for awhile and it is still telling my car to do things i dont want it to do Bluebiggrin All the other maps in particular map 7 is great. Keep on logging guys until you find the right one or mix. For the stock cars, stay with the default map 1 and 2 for now.

RE: JB4 Review
Hi guys. I've got an update for your'll. I did some vbox testing tonight.

Conditions: Still abit damp from the we've having here in Dbn of late. Selected Map1 13psi pump fuel.

Did 5 runs in total.

1st run- 13.5 @ 172kph 60' 2.2
2nd run 13.4 @ 172kph 60' 2.2
3rd run 13.1 @ 177kph 60' 2.0
4th run 13.2 @ 175kph 60 2.1
5th run 13.3 @ 174kph 60' 2.1

I think on the later runs the car was heat soaking abit.

Best 0-100 was 4.7sec and worst was 5.1sec

Next up just adding some 98 and try running Map2 14.5 psi in dryer conditions off course.
I probably would have broken into the 12s if it was dryer tonight but will see test Map1 in better conditions.

I can safely say that in suitable conditions and with stickier tires 12.7/12.8 will be achievable but I will have to put that theory to test. Can't wait to add some mods and try Map 2 out and hopefully try and get into the mid 12s.

RE: JB4 Review
Congrats...its coming along nicely for a tuned only stocker. Glad you are doing your initial testing on the lowest available map (map 1). Provides a good baseline and you can build from there ( i may have said this before)

Your 4.7sec is very impressive, shows you're a very good hooker....Bluebiggrin...with that manual of course Icon9...

Our fuel will reach you shortly....you going to be seriously impressed.
