RE: 850CSi - yes please
hmmm... I didn't even notice the wrong badges. Then again I was only looking at the picks from in front. The VIN will be able tell us what it is exactly.

RE: 850CSi - yes please
I'd love that

Way back in time - 1991 to be precise - The 840Ci/850CSi were released...in conjunction with MB's R129 500SL/600SL. I vowed that one day I would have that pair - 840 or 850 and a 500 or 600sl. I have acquired the 500SL ...Where's the BM ?

RE: 850CSi - yes please
wasnt the 850 csi a limited production item. If I remember there were 50 csi's made. The rest were 850i's.

Never mind though, Ill be happy with the standard 850i in my garage.

That is correct, the V12 in the CSi, came from the M factory Wink

RE: 850CSi - yes please
i heard that the 850CSi ran with a 5.4Litre V12, instead of the 5.0Litre V8 in the 850i... is this correct, or am i wrong?

RE: 850CSi - yes please
A few quick facts about the 850's.
The 850i and 850Ci are essentially the same car, BMW only opting to add the C designation a few years down the production because of the other C coupes like 325Ci etc. The 850Ci was powered by a 5.0l V12 M70 producing 300hp and some were released with the M73 5.4l V12 which produced 326hp. The 850Csi was a specially produced version (from 1992 to 1996) which had the S72B56 5.6l V12, which surmized a beefy 380hp. The 850Csi was only available in 6 speed manual, whereas the 850Ci was only in auto except for a few 6 speed manuals that were produced for the European market (manuals were never released in the US). Only 1510 850Csi's were ever built, of those only 160 were right hand drive versions.
The "S" engine designation confirms it was built by M//, the VIN numbers for the 850Csi's also start with WBS, also the M// designation.

Where is that Csi in the first photo's from? Is it a right hand drive?

RE: 850CSi - yes please
Its Amazing

To me it looks like BMW recycled alot of the parts from the 8-series into subsequent E34 E36 and e46 models. does anyone else pick that up?

It just Shows what a timeless quality vehicle this was in its prime.(in fact i think this is still in its prime:mmmBluebiggrin
